  • A More Secretly Powerful Tube Converter
  • Release candidate 1 of V2023.9.0 is here!
  • This release includes some new feature to make Parabolic even more powerful and secure!
  • First, the Keyring is now backed by the system credential manager, meaning that users no longer need to provide a password to secure their Keyring as it would be handled by system secrets. Of course, we offer a guide inside the app's help on moving old password-secured keyrings to the new secret-secured ones.
  • Besides keyrings, we improved Parabolic's support for subtitles by downloading the correctly supported format for a file type and supporting two letter language with region codes. We also introduced a new preference for choosing to remove identifying media source information from embedded metadata.

  • A More Customizable Tube Converter:
  • Beta 2 of V2023.6.1 is here! This release is packed with features, so lets get right into it!
  • First, we added the ability to specify a username and password to authenticate a download when needed. To complement this feature, we also added a Keyring to Tube Converter that will allow users to store their credentials for fast access when authenticating downloads. The Keyring is backed by our new library, Nickvision.Keyring.
  • We also added the ability to embed chapters in a download. Tube Converter will also remember the state of the Number Titles switch and selected Video Resolution and will automatically restore them in new downloads if available. As far as metadata, Tube Converter will no longer set Comment, Description, and Synopsis fields.
  • Finally, we fixed some issues where some URLs were not being validated and we greatly improved the speed of validation for playlists!

  • A MORE INTELLIGENT TUBE CONVERTER:
  • This week's beta features some bug fixes and new features for users to try out as we work our way to a stable C# release!
  • First, we added a brand new queue system to Tube Converter which will separate downloads into three respective categories: Downloading, Completed, and Queue. The max number of active downloads can be changed in preferences (the default value is 5). If too many active downloads are in progress, a new download will be placed into the queue. Once an active download finishes, the queued download will be moved up into the Downloading section and start downloading.
  • Furthermore, we added the ability to view a download's logs as the download is occurring, giving power users an insight into the behind the scenes of a download.
  • All that's left for us to complete is playlist support, #2 before the stable release. There is also currently a known yt-dlp issue in which downloads may be slower than they were a few weeks ago. This is being looked into and a fix is being actively worked on yt-dlp's side of things.

  • Please update all translations on Weblate before Friday, March 10 2023, to be included in the stable release.
