New in Paper Clip 4.0 (Dec 15, 2023)
- This new release brings some quality of life improvements and new features:
- Paper Clip now supports long-awaited XMP metadata! You can (finally) edit XMP properties for documents that support it and keep them in sync with the ordinary metadata.
- Better thumbnails (again): Thumbnails now use less memory and load faster. This is specially noticeable for large documents, which in the most extreme cases use 80-90% less memory. There is still room for improvement, so expect more changes in this lane in upcoming releases
- The About Window now shows debug information relevant for bug reports.
- A Nautilus Extension for Paper Clip is now available in the Github repository. Thanks to @DodoLeDev for working on this!

- This version features some adjustment to the user interface:
- The rows to set the creation and modification dates now have tooltips
- The DND feature now has a nicer semi-transparent overlay instead of discrete blue shadow around the interface
- PDFs with a transparent background are now given a white background layer so they are more visible in the interface

- Fix many UI papercuts to match the GNOME HIG
- The main view now features a thumbnail of the document
- The term "Creator" has been changed for "Creation Software" to avoid confusion with "Author"
- The main view now handles large document titles as special cases to avoid breaking the UI
- The keyword list now has a nicer UI
- The details window has been removed, and the non editable properties of the document have been moved to the bottom of the view
