Keep your tasks organized with the help of nifty Kanban-styled task manager/planner #Task Planner #Task Organizer #Kanban Planner #Kanban #Planner #Organizer
There's a lot to unpack when talking about Kanban, a term that describes the popular productivity-focused system using boards and cards.
Originally created and implemented by automotive manufacturer Toyota, the Kanban system is all about harnessing the power of visual management and it's mostly designed to help teams maximize time and efficiency. In short, the boards and cards are used by a team to visualize and manage work.
This Week In My Life aims to somewhat take advantage of this uniquely efficient system by providing you with a Kanban-styled task planner (that, of course, uses cards for tasks).
At its core This Week In My Life is an extremely easy-to-use application. You don't have to be familiar with Kanban systems at all to make use of what this app offers, since it's pretty much a basic task manager app with Kanban cards.
You simple add tasks, you group/organize them based on project (or by day), and you mark them as completed once they're finished, that's about it.
We already established that the app is pretty simple, both in terms of usage and features, however, it's important to note that it might become even better in the future.
Currently, there's no Settings/Preferences section (it's grayed out in the app's menu), which means you get nothing in terms of customization. Nevertheless, the way the app structures tasks in this Kanban style is somewhat appealing, especially for users who want to always have a general perspective on the what's to come.
And, sure, it's also true that This Week In My Life doesn't actually make use of everything and every advantage and intricacy the Kanban system has to offer, but that's to be expected, since the app is designed for singular users, and not teams (hence, there are no collaboration features in this app).
Hate it or love it, This Week In My Life brings a very fresh perspective on what task planner/organizer can be with the help of Kanban styled boards and cards. It may not be innovative (so to speak), but it's a lot different than most other task planners who usually stick to the same old recipe for both GUIs and workflow. Oh, and the name is pretty cool.
