Extract the most relevant color palettes from any image with the help of this super stylish Libadwaita/GTK4 utility. #Color Palette #Palette Manager #Color Picker #Color #Palette #Image
Color is a lot more important than we tend to give them credit for. Colors have the power to influence a lot regarding our behavior, can impact our moods, and can even inspire our decision-making in certain situations.
That's also why choosing an appropriate color palette for your brand or personal or professional projects can also be quite important.
Even though there are a ton of desktop and online apps that allow you to create great color palettes, they do have their limits. For example, what do you do when, let's say, you want to "extract" a color palette from a certain image?
Probably not the most obvious answer, but if you're not against having an extra desktop app installed on your system, then you might want to try out Paleta.
Paleta is a super stylish GTK4/Libadwaita, free and open-source application that allows you to "find the dominant color palette from any image," as well as create and manage custom color palettes for your projects.
In short, it's a tool aimed at designers, artists, or just about anyone looking to simplify and even take their color work to the next level.
Paleta is a prime example of a very user-friendly application, hence, getting to grips with the app should come natural to most users. The app's functionality is split into two main sections: Drop and Palettes.
The first tab is the place where you can load or drag and drop any image from your computer, and extract the associated color palette. What's really cool about this section is that it not only displays all the associated colors and their codes, but that it also allows you to save the palette for later use (and, obviously, access it from the Palettes section).
Interestingly enough, you're also provided with the option to broaden or narrow the whole palette extraction process by choosing the palette count and the palette quality.
The Palette section is, as mentioned before, the place from where you can access all your saved palettes, but it's also the place where you can create custom palettes from scratch, without relying on the "Drop" section.
Paleta might not seem very impressive, however, it's a very well-designed little app that does its job quite nicely. It looks good, it feels modern, it's fast, it's user-friendly, and its toolkit should come in handy for a wide range of artists and designers out there.
