Lorem For Linux

Loren Ipsum, or "lipsum text" as it's often referred to, is randomly generated placeholder text used in design when creating content. If you want to generate the well-known Lorem Ipsum placeholder text, all you have to do is search online, and you'll find hundreds of web apps that can do just that.

However, you can also opt to have a small, practical, and lightweight app on your desktop that can generate Lorem Ipsum text much faster.

Lorem is one such desktop app for Linux, and it can be installed from Flathub.

There's really not much to be said about how this app operates, as it's as straightforward as one might imagine.

The text is generated automatically on startup, and all you have to is choose the number of paragraphs or the number of words you want, and that's about it.

To do this, you'll have to select either paragraphs or words from the drop down menu on the upper left side, and then use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the results as you please.

There's also a "quick copy" button on the upper right side of the app's GUI, and a list of all the app's Keyboard shortcuts, which are not particularly useful.

As mentioned before, there are tons of Lorem Ipsum generators online that get the job done without issues, but if you rely on Lorem Ipsum on a daily basis, then having this app installed is not at all a bad idea.
