HopToDesk For Linux

There are tons of very competent and popular remote desktop software out there. Most of them make it remarkably for users to share their screens, as well as remote control and access other computers of devices.

Of course, the main selling point of HopToDesk is its feature set. For a completely free and open-source app, HopToDesk offers a surprising number of neat features. These include screen-sharing, remote control, file transfer, live chat, as well as more advanced ones such as direct IP access, IP whitelisting, and SOCKS5 connections.

Even though HopToDesk is a remarkably easy-to-use app, we would have liked to see a few more information about the app's basic functions or at the very least, a nice little Getting Started guide at first launch.

Another aspect that you should be aware of, even though we don't think it will much of an impact on your decision to move forward with HopToDesk, is the fact that the app is not exactly the best looking app of this sort out there.

Not to say that the GUI is not modern, but it doesn't offer the same level of polish and consistency in terms of fonts, GUI elements, and overall feel as other similar products (which, granted, are not open-source and free).

If you're on the lookout for a good, dependable, completely free and open-source remote desktop/access software, then you can't really go wrong with HopToDesk. It offers pretty much every modern user needs (apart from maybe the ability to perform audio and video calls), and it pays enough attention to your privacy and security to make worth your while.
