GabTag For Linux

Tagging audio files is one of the best ways to keep your local music collection as organized as possible. Thankfully, there are many good apps that can help you out by making this task a simple one.

GabTag is one of those apps, a free and open-source Linux utility written in GTK 4 and Adwaita. It allows just about anyone to modify tags of audio files, or even automatically find tags via online services such as MusicBrainz and the lyrics.wikia.com database.

GabTag looks and feels like most other Linux tagging utilities. The way you operate the app is quite simple: just load the file, select it from the list on the left side of the GUI, and manually add, modify, or delete basic tags (such as title, album, artist, genre, etc.).

Alternatively, you can scrolll down and allow the app to automatically fill in all the required tags via MusicBrainz. This includes the Cover tag as well.

All the modified tags/files are automatically displayed using bold fonts. Last but not least, the app is also capabel of handling multiple files at the same file, which should make it a fairly suited for users who want to modify scores of audio files at once.

There's really not more one could want from GabTag. It's a good-looking Adwaita and GTK-ready application that's free and open-source, it's easy to use, it's fairly lightweight, and it allows you to add, modify or delete tags of your audio files.
