Keep track of your daily treatments and daily pill ingestion with the help of this nifty medication tracker for Linux. #Medication Tracker #Pill Tracker #Medication Organizer #Medication #Med #Pill
Keeping track of your meds is a pretty effortless task if you're only taking up to two pills a day. Pump those numbers up, and you are bound to discover what the perfect recipe for disaster looks like.
Using a plain pill box, and using your mobile phone to set reminders is probably one of the easiest ways to ensure that you juggle your meds with ease and in a responsible manner.
If you're looking for something more, you can always try one of the many high-tech treatment reminder/pill organizer apps out there. If you're on Linux, you're not exactly spoiled for choice, but that doesn't mean that you're out of options.
Dosage is a free and open-source, Linux-only medication tracker application built primarily for GNOME desktops.
The main advantage of Dosage is that it strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and functionality. Regardless of how many meds or pills or substances you need to take on a daily basis, Dosage can help, well, with dosage management.
Apart from being specifically made for GNOME desktops, Dosage doesn't really have disadvantages (well, at least if you don't compare it with high-tech med trackers/reminders with cloud and synchronization capabilities).
You're provided with a lot of ways to organize treatments using tags, colors, and icons, define the start and end dates for your treatments, and keep track of your inventory to ensure that you never run out of pills (a simple yet effective refill scheduler).
The app also provides a simple way to deal with treatment frequency (you can create an in-depth schedule for your treatments - every day, selected days, cycle, or when needed), and even toggle between multiple dosages at different times.
One of the best parts about this app is definitely the History section, so you can always double-check if you actually skipped or took your medication. The fact that the app also provides system-wide notifications/reminders is also pretty great.
You can toggle notification sounds, add the option to skip or confirm notifications and ensure that notifications reach you even if the "Do Not Disturb" feature is enabled (just select the Increase Notification Priority option in the Preferences menu).
Dosage is a pretty cool little app that can really have a big impact on your life if you're willing to give it a shot and, of course, if you're a Linux/GNOME user.
As mentioned before, it doesn't have many downsides, but that's only if you don't compare it to other, more advanced medication trackers you can get for your mobile phone.
