ElymOs For Linux

ElymOs is an open source operating system based on the Lubuntu Linux distribution and built around the modern GNOME desktop environment (with GNOME Shell). It is a very attractive and productive OS suitable for mid-range or high-end computers.

The user can download this custom Lubuntu distribution as a single Live DVD ISO image that has approximately 1GB in size and was tagged for the i386 (32-bit) architecture, which means that it will run on both 32-bit and 64-bit computers, but supports only 32-bit applications.

The boot menu of the ElymOs Live DVD is identical with the one of the official Lubuntu Linux ISO image, allowing the user to try the operating system without installing, start the installer directly, check the disk for defects, test the memory for errors, as well as to boot the first disk drive.

As mentioned, the default and only desktop environment of this Lubuntu-based operating system is GNOME, with the modern and productive GNOME Shell interface. It uses a custom dock (application launcher) on the bottom edge of the screen.

Default applications include the Gedit text editor, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Transmission torrent downloader, Synaptic Package Manager, Evince document viewer, Eye of GNOME image viewer, GParted partition editor, Brasero CD/DVD burning software, Disks disk manager and Nautilus file manager.

Summing up, ElymOs makes it easy for everyone to learn Linux and programming. It also includes all the necessary software for everyday usage. Wine and VirtualBox are installed for using other operating systems inside ElymOs.
