CyanPack For Linux

CyanPack is a completely free Live GNU/Linux operating system based on the Trisquel Linux distribution and designed from the ground up for desktop usage by end-users.

The project can be downloaded via Softpedia or directly from the project’s website as a dual-arch Live DVD ISO image of approximately 3GB in size. It contains software packages optimized for both 64-bit (x86_64) and 32-bit (x86) hardware platforms.

From the boot menu, you can immediately see that the distribution is based on Trisquel Linux, which in turn is derived from Ubuntu. It will ask users to choose a language to use (supports English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese languages).

After choose your favorite language, you will be able to try the operating system without installing it, start the graphical installer directly, perform a system memory diagnostic test, boot from the local drive, as well as to check the integrity of the bootable medium.

The CyanPack Linux distribution offers the same software selection that is distributed bimonthly by the CyanPack Project. It includes the LibreOffice office suite, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, and many other popular applications.

The CyanPack distribution also contains magazines and digital books. The main language used in the CyanPack Linux operating system is Brazilian Portuguese, but other languages can be used too, simply by installing them.

The project features a simple, traditional, fast and familiar graphical desktop environment that comprises of a transparent taskbar located on the bottom edge of the screen. The user can use the taskbar to navigate the main menu, launch applications, as well as to interact with running programs.
