Bluestar Linux Desktop GMA3600 For Linux

Bluestar Linux Desktop GMA3600 is an open source Linux operating system based on Arch Linux and built around the KDE Plasma Workspaces and Applications project. It is a custom flavor of the original Bluestar Linux Desktop edition, specifically engineered to provide support for Intel GMA3600 video cards, meaning it will not support any other GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) besides GMA3600.

The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3600 is an integrated processor graphics card used in several Atom-powered netbook computers, such as the famous Asus Eee PC, as well as Acer AOD270 and HP Mini 1104.

The project is distributed as two Live DVD ISO images, one for each of the supported hardware platforms (32-bit and 64-bit). The default password for user root is admin, and the default password for user bslx is user.

The boot menu includes the same options like on other Bluestar Linux flavors, allowing users to boot an existing operating system, run a memory test, and detect the computer’s hardware components.

Default applications include the Chromium, Mozilla Firefox and Konqueror web browsers, KMail and Mozilla Thunderbird email clients, Pidgin multi-protocol instant messenger, FileZilla FTP client, Transmission torrent downloader, Gwenview image viewer, GIMP image editor, SMPlayer video player.

The entire LibreOffice office suite is also included by default in this edition of Bluestar Linux, as well as the VLC Media Player, KGet download manager, and many other KDE specific applications and utilities.
