Monitorets For Linux

Monitorets is a free and open-source, small system monitor for Linux. Before anything else, let's get the obvious facts out of the way. This is by no means a comprehensive or the best system monitor for Linux, far from it. In fact, you'd be better off thinking of Monitorets as an applet or a widget.

Having said that, Monitorets has some redeeming qualities, the primary one being its looks. This tiny system resource manager looks uber-cool on GNOME desktops, and should look just as cool on other desktop environments as well.

The app's modern GUI ensures that you always have your computer's resource usage at a glance. The available monitors include CPU usage, Memory (RAM) usage, home folder space, and root space.

There's also a GPU monitoring feature, but please note that it's highly experimental. This means that it might not even work, depending on your GPU vendors, drivers, compatibility with your OS' desktop environment, etc.

Another great feature is the fact that you can customize how the resource monitors are displayed. You can opt for various patterns: horizontal, vertical, and adaptive. The app also allows you to choose between two GUI themes (Light and Dark), or you can opt to go with your system's theme, and not worry about it.

While it's not exactly the best tool of this sort out there, Monitorets is a refreshingly simple and gorgeous-looking application that looks right at home on most modern desktop environments.

What it lacks in outright features, it more than makes up in looks and customization options, as the app allows you to choose which system resources you want to monitor or not. A very nice little project that has a lot of potential with future development.
