Long gone are the days when Linux distributions used to limit their users to their specific pre-compiled packages. Nowadays, there are a lot of distro-agnostic packages in the form of Flatpak, Snap, and AppImage.

Even though not all users are fans of the aforementioned "universal" packages, they do bring a more "self-contained" approach, adding a bit of spice and some much-needed variety to most Linux ecosystems.

In short, it's an app that fetches data from the database of Snapstore, Flathub, and appimage.github.io. It provides you with a quick, easy, and clean way of installing and managing your favorite Snap, Flatpak, and AppImage apps.

How simple, you ask? Well, you just open the app, search for the app that you want, and click the Download button, and that's pretty much about it.

To be honest, it gets the job done. Be that as it may, it's not exactly the most stylish, or the fastest app of this sort.

For example, upon running the app for the first time, it does take a fair bit until all the information is fetched, which can affect the search results.

Other than that, there's not much to reproach.

Taking everything into account, App Outlet is definitely a nice project that is sure to come in handy to all those willing to give it a chance. We're not sure it will appeal to hardcore Linux veterans, as we're they might preffer to manually get their apps, but for new Linux users, it's definitely a stellar solution.
