A platform-independent and Open Source visualization tool for the libcsdbg library. #Stack trace visualizer #Libcsdbg visualization #C++ exception #Libcsdbg #Visualizer #Visualization
jTracer is an open source, free and cross-platform software project distributed as part of the libcsdbg and designed from the offset to act as a stack trace visualization utility, supporting all mainstream operating systems and applications written in the Java programming language. It is similar to GNU GDB (The GNU Project Debugger) and gdbserver.
Key features include a configurable and easy-to-use GUI (Graphical User Interface), data transaction logging, concurrent server, processes, easy navigation and search through trace data, as well as easy configurable server using various XML files.
The software uses C++ syntax highlighting for detailing traces, provides automatic updates, it is highly portable, currently running on all Java capable systems, and come with built-in support for on-the-fly pluggable configuration.
It’s graphical user interface is extremely easy to use and straightforward, designed to give you al the necessary tools that are essential for cross debugging and cross development over an Ethernet interface.
libcsdbg is a multiplatform, freely distributed and open source library software written in C++ and designed to be used as a debug library for C++ exception (and generic) stack traces. It supports the 32-bit (x86), 64-bit (x86_64), ARM 7/9/11/thumb, AVR32, Leon 2/3 and MIPS architectures.
At the moment, the library is used on the jTracer software for visualizing stack traces. libcsdbg supports both little and big endian CPUs, several objective code formats, as well as other file formats, including core dumps, libraries, archives, etc.
jTracer is a graphical application written in the Java programming language, which means that you can run it on any operating system where the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is available, including GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. Both 64-bit and 32-bit architectures are supported at this time.
What's new in jTracer 1.03:
- This beta release adds an installer (jar autodeflated executable) that is expected to work well (although not all its features are implemented) with Linux and Windows (both 32- and 64-bit) systems.
- The implementation of the installer mandates the use of Java 1.7.
- In addition to the source code and the old build system, precompiled distributions are now available for Linux and Windows.
- Future releases will embed these two installers into one, and the installer itself will gradually evolve into a separate general purpose jar installer.
