A Photo Tool (Libre) is one of many Linux apps for editing photos and images. Right off the bat, we have to point out that A Photo Tool (Libre) will not win any beauty awards, since its GUI is not exactly modern-looking or feeling.

Nevertheless, it does bring forth a series of basic photo editing tools, and it also comes with bespoke binaries. This, coupled with the fact that it's also available via AUR PPA, and available on Snapcraft and Flathub, means that A Photo Tool (Libre) should work on most Linux distros.

Even though A Photo Tool (Libre) is not an impressive photo editor, it does provide you with quick and easy-to-operate, slider-based tools to edit aspects such as the exposure and color settings of your photos.

Other noteworthy tools include the ability to tweak the white balance and color temperature of your photos, the saturation, hue, and tint, as well as convert the photos to black and white (with custom settings).

There's also an image rotation tool that is accompanied by a resize and crop and straighten tool.

Of course, another aspect that makes A Photo Tool (Libre) good is the fact that all its tools are simple sliders, and are neatly organized in three tabs: Color, B&W, and Tools.

The way you operate A Photo Tool (Libre) is pretty similar to most other photo editors: you simply open a picture/photo/image, apply the effects and tweak it according to your liking or needs, and then either save it as a new file, or apply the changes directly on top of the original file. The app supports JPEG and most other image formats (the app's website doesn't offer much information in this regard).

A Photo Tool (Libre) is a non-impressive, yet decent little photo editor. It's easy to use, fairly lightweight, and it packs all the tools one needs for basic photo editing.
