Simple Wireplumber GUI For Linux

PipeWire is now the go-to choice for existing Linux audio solutions and is, arguably, a very good replacement for PulseAudio.

PipeWire is powered by a default session manager called PipeWire upstream. It is, by all intents and purposes, a fairly basic session manager with a limited number of features that mostly add functionality for desktop use cases.

This is where WirePlumber comes into play. WirePlumber is a modern, advanced, and quite powerful session and policy manager for PipeWire.

It's designed to be a lot better than PipeWire upstream and it's based on a modular design with various Lua plugins implementing the actual management functionality.

Another advantage of WirePlumber is that it offers a wide range of configuration options, and it can also be quite extendable.

Instead of dealing with having to build, install, and configure WirePlumber (and ultimately, learn to deal with the PipeWire daemon), you could use Simple Wireplumber GUI and make your life a lot easier.

As its name clearly states, it provides you with a modern, GTK4 GUI for managing PipeWire. More to the point, it allows you to manage all audio devices running PipeWire as the audio server thanks to WirePlumber as the session and policy manager.

The GUI is quite straightforward, with three main tabs: Physical Devices, Output Nodes, and Input Nodes. The application can be installed directly from Flathub, or it can be build from source (available on GitHub).

The app does exactly what it aimed to achieve - it makes working with WirePlumber (and all PipeWire devices) a lot easier and more straightforward.

Even though it may not be the most impressive application out there, Simple Wireplumber GUI is a very good app for those who often work with PipeWire.
