Enjoy one of the most stylish and modern looking music players for Linux called Resonance. #Music Player #Audio Player #Play Music #Audio #Music #Player
There are lots of nice music players out there for Linux, it's just a matter of taking the time to find and try out some of them until you're happy with your choice. At that point, you're usually going to stick with that choice, until (or if) you find one that suits your taste and needs better.
If you're not particularly keen on having all the features possible on your audio player, then Resonance might just be the one that could potentially convince you to make the switch.
Resonance is market as being an "intuitive music player application written in Rust & Python with a clean user interface build using GTK4/Libadwaita." Granted, the official description (while correct), is not something to make you jump out of your seat.
Nevertheless, Resonance is one of those apps that's a lot more than just the sum of its parts. Yes, it's a modern music player that allows you to play your entire music collection and, yes, it works with most of the popular audio formats such as MP3, MP4, FLAC, and even AAC (just to name a few).
What really makes Resonance really special is its GUI. It's not only modern, but it remarkably fast, smooth, and pleasing to the eye. The UI automatically (and instantly) updates to reflect the currently playing track's cover art colors.
There's really no way around it, it's just gorgeous. Hence, if you're a user who really cares about how apps look (and let's be honest, having something beautiful on the screen is nice), then Resonance is sure to make an impression on you.
Other noteworthy features include the ability to create and edit playlists, to control the player through MPRIS, Discord Rich Presence integration, Last.fm scrobbling, and the ability to import tags (with the Mutagen library).
Another really awesome aspect of the app is just how customizable it is. The Settings menu provides users with a plethora of customization options. You can alter everything on Resonance, but there are enough configuration options to make Resonance feel like an app that was designed with user experience in mind.
As mentioned at the start of the review, Resonance won't blow anyone's socks off with its features. Instead, Resonance is a music player that focuses more on enhancing the whole music listening experience with a visual aspect that most other players out there can't provide.
