Deezer is a French music streaming service along the lines of Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, and so forth.
Deezer is known for its immense music library (with HiFi audio support), a pretty decent music discovery algorithm, and podcasts, audiobooks, and radio. Another aspect that makes Deezer appealing is the platform's availability in over 180 countries, as well as its overall simplicity and ease of use.
If you're a Linux users, and you happily make your way to Deezer's official Download section, you'll be disappointed, as there's no official desktop app for Linux.
Deezer is a Linux-only app that allows you to take advantage of everything Deezer (as a service) has to offer directly on your Linux computer's desktop.
Before you get overly excited, you do need to know that Deezer (yes, we agree that the name could and should have been a bit different) is an universal Linux port of Deezer (the official Windows app). In short, Deezer is an unofficial Deezer desktop client that, needless to say, it isn't supported by the streaming service.
We recommend that you take a look at Deezer's EULA before using the app, since there's a very good chance that using this app is more or less outside the scope of said EULA.
No, quite the contrary. The app is based on the native Windows app (which means it's not at all bad looking). It also means that provides full access to everything your Deezer account can offer, including the option to download songs on your PC and listen to them in offline mode.
Another good thing is the fact that this port is pacakged in a wide range of formats (everything from Flatpak and Snap, to AppImage, rpm, deb, and 7z). You can also install the app directly from Flathub, or even build it from source by following the instructions provided on the app's GitHub repository.
Deezer is not what one might call a perfect solution for the problem, that in which Linux users don't have an official desktop app for Deezer. But hey, beggers can't be choosers, right?
Be that as it may, the app does seem to work flawlessly (at least on Ubuntu), and it's definitely worth a try if you're a Deezer Linux users.
