Bardinux For Linux

Bardinux is an open source distribution of Linux based on the LTS (Long Term Support) release of the popular Kubuntu Linux operating system and tailored for students of the University of San Fernando de La Laguna, in Spain.

The distribution can be downloaded from its official website (see link above) or via Softpedia as two Live DVD ISO images or approximately 1GB in size, designed to support the 64-bit and 32-bit hardware platforms and the Spanish language, which can be easily changed by pressing the F2 key on the boot menu.

The project comes with a beautiful boot loader that allows the user to start the live environment, replicate an installation through the network, perform a system memory test, boot an existing operating system from the first disk, as well as to check the integrity of the bootable medium (only if using a DVD disc).

Before you can access the beautiful and modern desktop environment, which of course is powered by KDE Plasma, the user will be prompted by the same welcome screen that is available in the official Kubuntu distribution, allowing you to try or install the operating system.

There’s no doubt that Bardinux is a productive operating system, as it is backed by some of the most powerful open source applications on the Internet, including the LibreOffice office suite, Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Amarok audio player, Kopete instant messenger client, Kaffeine media player, and K3b CD/DVD burning software.

Summing up, Bardinux is a beautiful, modern, fast, productive and accessible operating system powered by the latest LTS (Long Term Support) version of the Kubuntu distribution and designed primarily for the students of the University of La Laguna.
