phpMyAdmin, the popular tool written in PHP intended to handle the administration of MySQL databases, has just reached version 4.1.0 Beta 1.

The first Beta of phpMyAdmin 4.1.0 has been launched and is ready for testing. The developers have implemented quite a few changes and improvements.

Highlights of phpMyAdmin 4.1.0 Beta 1:

• server_status.php functions have been broken into smaller functions; • Specifying the controlport is now allowed; • The PMA_DBI functions in the database interface libraries have been renamed to be compliant • with PEAR standards; • The layout on db and table operations pages has been improved; • The option text for the icon/text settings has been improved; • CodeMirror has been upgraded to the 3.x branch.
