phpMyAdmin, the popular tool written in PHP intended to handle the administration of MySQL databases, has just reached version 4.0.0 Beta 2.

The developers of phpMyAdmin have just released the second development version, in a new branch of the application. There aren't many changes from the previous release, but at least they're staying on track to release the 4.0.0 branch.

Highlights of phpMyAdmin 4.0.0 Beta 2:

• The HTML frames have been removed; • A tree has been added to the navigation panel; • The current version will need Javascript to work; • The documentation has been improved and an index has been added.

A complete list changes can be found in the official changelog. Download phpMyAdmin 4.0.0. Beta 2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
