You won't believe this, but Feral Interactive announced on October 5, 2016, that it would port the awesome Mad Max open world action-adventure video game to the SteamOS, Linux, and Mac platforms.

Developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Mad Max was officially released for Microsoft's Windows operating systems, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming consoles, a year ago, in September 2015.

As you might have guessed, the game is based on the Mad Max franchise created by George Miller and Byron Kennedy, and starring Mel Gibson in the first three films. It was a very popular movie, so it had to get a remake based on recent technologies and featuring a modern actor, namely Tom Hardy.

Back to the game, Mad Max is powered by the Avalanche Engine, which means that you'll be entertained by some very realistic effects through the entire game, where you'll fight to live another day. It is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland containing deserts, caves, and canyons.

"As they navigate the Wasteland, gamers will encounter a huge variety of enemies, in a gigantic post-apocalyptic open-world with a range of immersive locations, many of them remnants of the world before the apocalypse," says Feral Interactive.

However, to enjoy those breathtaking effects, you'll need to have a recent PC with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, or AMD FX-8350 64-bit 3.4 GHz, up to 16GB RAM, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 660ti or AMD Radeon (not officially supported) graphics card with 2GB RAM or higher (a 4GB RAM GPU is recommended).

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS or SteamOS 2.0 64-bit distros are recommended. Below you can watch the trailer to see the game in action, and stay tuned for more news on the final release on October 20. Also, check out the official website for more details on the upcoming port.
