The Zabbix monitoring solution has been separated into multiple branches, and this latest issue is now stable, featuring several changes and enhancements.
According to the changelog, the overall system performance has been significantly improved, support has been added for monitoring the VMWare virtualization platforms (including auto-discovery of VMs), and the application inheritance logic has been changed to allow linking multiple templates with the same applications.
Also, Zabbix will now automatically update the database structure when upgrading to newer major versions, and the permission logic has been changed so that read permission does not override write permission anymore.
