Rescatux, a GNU/Linux rescue CD that is equipped with Rescapp, which is a nice wizard that will guide you through your rescue tasks, is now at version 0.31 Beta 5.

Rescatux can fix GRUB and GRUB2, check and fix filesystems (Windows MBR included), change Gnu/Linux password, regenerate sudoers file, and much more.

Highlights of Rescatux 0.31 Beta 5:

• The hard-disk detection has been improved when non standard partitions such as LVM or encrypted ones are present; • Cryptsetup packages have been added to default build so that the distro can mount LUKS partitions later; • You can now promote a Windows user to Admin and Unlock Windows users;

A complete list of changes can be found in the official announcement. Download Rescatux 0.31 Beta 5 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a Beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
