The Ubuntu Touch Developers Preview and the Ubuntu SDK have been available more a little over a month now and the first apps are starting to appear.

As expected, Canonical is on the forefront of development for Ubuntu Touch and they already have identified a few important apps that need to be developed first.

Canonical's Michael Hall has posted a few examples of applications currently being developed and they include a Calendar, a Calculator, a Clock, and a Weather app.

Besides Canonical, there are also a number of other developers who took it upon themselves to make various applications and they seem to be more useful than the official ones.

Community developer Joseph Mills has created a beautiful alternative, Weather App, that trumps the works of Ubuntu's makers, and Ken Vandine has already made a Gwibber microblogging client.

More examples of Ubuntu Touch apps can be found on Michael Hall's blog.
