VueScan 9.4.16, an easy-to-use replacement for the software that usually comes with scanners and that supports most flatbed scanners, printer/scanners, and film scanners, has been released and is now available for download and testing.

The VueScan project is under constant development, and fixes, changes, and new features are implemented on a regular basis.

Highlights of VueScan 9.4.16:

• Better and brighter display of negative scans during preview and scan has been implemented; • The application automatically switches back to flatbed when paper is removed from feeder; • A problem with some Epson scanners has been fixed; • Multi-core support has been added for some long-running operations.

VueScan provides support for over 1,000 scanners on the Linux system. Not all of them work with all SCSI/USB/Firewire interfaces, but most combinations are known to function.

A complete backlog of modifications implemented in all the past versions can be found in the official announcement. Download VueScan 9.4.16 right now from Softpedia.
