SteamOS has been released for a few days now, and the users have already started to complain about the lack of true AMD support for the new operating system.

Valve has said right from the start that SteamOS will come with NVIDIA and Intel support, but there are a lot of users out there that have very different hardware.

It's true that they can install AMD video drivers from the official Steam repositories, but the blowback on the official forums is considerable.

It's also true that Valve is testing different configurations for the upcoming Steam Machines, a console / PC hybrid scheduled to launch in 2014, and it's a little early to complain about the lack of proper drivers.

It's very likely that Valve will start to push a lot of updates for the operating system, which means that users won't have to wait too long.
