Valve has released yet another beta version of its Steam client, bringing a very important fix for the Linux platform.

The company usually pushes a few Beta updates before upgrading the stable branch of Steam, and now it's time for another Beta version to be released.

According to the developers, an issue with ever-increasing playtime for games that aren't running has been fixed, and a crash that occurred at startup with certain window managers on Linux has been corrected.

Also, a Big Picture Offline Mode indicator / Go Online button has been implemented in the top row (visible when the user is in offline mode), and the text no longer gets ellipses in some controls under Linux.

You can also download the Steam installer from Softpedia if you don't have the client.
