Users could get the much coveted alarm clock sooner than you think

Ubuntu Touch has been available for some time as a stable release, but it's still missing some components, like an alarm clock. That is about to change, and soon.

If you have used Ubuntu Touch before, you might have noticed that you would always be late for work. That was because the new OS from Canonical doesn't have an alarm implemented just yet. It seems that it's a lot more difficult than it sounds.

“This is concerning the current status of the Alarms feature on Ubuntu Touch. As I understand this feature spans across different teams and hence requires coordination to get it done. So I have asked Alan Pope to be that person who has an overview of the big picture and ensure that a team is not blocked on any factor,” said developer Nekhelesh Ramananthan on the official mailing list.

The developer also outlined the work that has been done so far and, from the response he received, it seems that we might get an alarm very soon.
