Ubuntu Core Apps Hack Days, an event hosted by Canonical that should attract a lot of developers for Ubuntu Touch, is scheduled to start tomorrow.

“Starting this Wednesday, and during the next three weeks, we’re organizing a set of Hack Days inviting all interested contributors to bring Ubuntu Touch up another step closer to a production release and to ensure all core apps have reached a state of functionality to be used every day,” reads the official announcement.

It is not a secret that Canonical needs a lot of good applications ready for the official launch (which should be sometime in 2014), and they are doing everything in their power to complete this objective.

Canonical has already set a few goals to the would-be Ubuntu developers:

• Get all core apps into a ‘dogfoodable’ state; • Find and fix critical bugs in core apps and their dependencies; • Identify, record and fix gaps in functionality; • Get new developers involved in Core Apps and Ubuntu Touch development in general; • Have fun with Ubuntu App Development!

The “Hack Days” will be organized in a virtual mode, just like they do with the vUDS (virtual UDS). More details about the target apps and about the schedule can be found on Canonical's website.
