Transmission, an Open Source cross-platform BitTorrent client that strives to be as simple as possible, is now at version 2.80.
The new version of Transmission, 2.80, comes with a large number of fixes and changes, but also a few improvements.
Highlights of Transmission 2.80:
• Users can now rename a transfer's files and folders; • The most frequent thread locks have been removed from ibtransmission; • The free disk space available is now shown when downloading a torrent; • The OS's filesystem cache is now better used; • The previous JSON parser has been replaced with jsonsl in order to resolve the DFSG licensing issue; • Unit tests have been improved in libtransmission; • The tarballs of the application are now released only in the .xz format.
