14 DAY TRIAL // Suricata, a high-performance Network IDS, IPS, and Network Security Monitoring engine that is open source and owned by a community-run non-profit organization – the Open Information Security Foundation (OISF) –, is now at version 2.0 RC1.
According to the developer, Suricata 2.0 RC1 marks the release of a new build in the next development branch.
Highlights of Suricata 2.0 RC1:
• Unified JSON output for almost all log types has been implemented; • The QinQ VLAN handling has been improved; • Alerting over PCIe bus has been enabled; • Various scalability improvements have been implemented.

Suricata is developed by the OISF, its supporting vendors, and the community. This means that the developers need the active support of the latter in order to improve the software.
