Suricata, a high-performance Network IDS, IPS and Network Security Monitoring engine that is open source and owned by a community-run non-profit foundation – the Open Information Security Foundation (OISF) – is now at version 1.3.6.

Highlights of Suricata 1.3.6:

• Decoder event rules were not checked in all cases; • The checksum detection for icmpv6 was fixed; • A crash in HTTP server body inspection code was fixed; • A icmpv6 payload bug was corrected; • A malformed yaml crashing suricata was fixed; • Parsing ipv6 address/subnet parsing in thresholding was fixed by Jamie Strandboge; • UDPv4 packets without checksum are no longer being detected as invalid; • DCE/SMB parsers are no longer getting confused in some fragmented cases.
