Moka, a superb theme for GNOME Shell that uses simple geometry and basic coloring, is now available for download.

The Moka theme incorporates a quasi-flat style, using simple geometry and a few basic guidelines that make it compatible with almost all kinds of GNOME-based desktop environments, including Unity.

According to the developers, downloading the archive and manually installing the Moka GNOME Shell theme is the recommended method, as the install script provided will simply install it locally in your Home folder. You can then use a tool like GNOME Tweak to enable it.

You can also download it from the provided PPA. It works with all the distros above Ubuntu 12.04, Fedora 18, OpenSuSE 12.2, and Arch Linux. Just open a terminal and enter the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:moka/moka-gnome-shell-theme sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install moka-gnome-shell-theme
