Valve has released an update for their Steam for Linux client, integrating a couple of Beta versions launched in the past weeks.

The development for Steam is usually done in the Beta branch and pushed at a later date into the stable version.

Highlights of the new Steam for Linux stable update:

• The Auto-Cloud was being erroneously disabled for some games. This problem was fixed; • Steam startup and shutdown times have been improved by removing unnecessary Cloud syncs; • The Steam startup time has been improved even more for some users.

A more detailed description of the update can be found in the official announcement. You can also check out our Steam review. Download the Steam for Linux installer from Softpedia. If you already have Steam installed, the client will update itself and ask for a restart.
