The Valve developers have been quick to update their client

Valve has launched a new stable version for its Steam for Linux client, featuring a slew of new features and a lot of fixes and improvements.

When a development version garners sufficient changes, Valve promotes it to stable, and the work for the next beta starts almost immediately.

Highlights of the latest Steam for Linux update:

• The Steam Client responsiveness has been improved when performing network uploads; • A bug which caused Workshop and Steam Cloud file uploads to fail has been fixed; • A crash that occurred when downloading or updating games has been fixed; • A crash that occurred when quitting some multiplayer games has been fixed; • The Steam Client has been updated to the latest version of SDL2.

In order to get the latest update, users just have to start the application and make sure they’re enrolled in the Beta program.
