The tablet features an ARM processor and a Mali-400 GPU

Aaron J. Seigo, a KDE developer, has revealed that the first tablet computer to come with KDE Plasma Active preinstalled.

Called Spark, the tablet features an open Linux stack on unlocked hardware, which in turn is rather impressive.

The processor is an 1 GHz AMLogic ARM , and it has a Mali-400 GPU (Graphics processing unit),  512 MB RAM, 4GB internal storage plus SD card slot, Wi-Fi, and a 7" capacitive multi-touch screen.

The price is also attractive, at just €200 ($264). According to Aaron Seigo, "partnerships are being forged to provide things as diverse as OwnCloud hosting services, Kolab and Kontact Touch deployment support and exciting Qt/QML add-on apps for download."

It's not clear when the tablet will be officialy launched, but  Seigo says it will be very soon. Potential buyers can't yet place pre-orders, but such details should also be available shortly.
