Snowlinux, a Debian-based Linux distribution for beginners, implementing the MATE desktop, is now at version 5 Beta.
Snowlinux 5 Beta has been codenamed “Flurry” and it’s based on Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 “Wheezy” and Linux kernel 3.10. It also uses the MATE desktop environment.
Highlights of Snowlinux 5 Beta:
• Mozilla Firefox has been updated to version 24; • Mozilla Thunderbird has been updated to version 24; • LibreOffice, Rhythmbox, and Shotwell have been integrated by default; • Snowlinux HD backgrounds have been integrated by default; • The speed and response of the distribution has been improved; • Various system improvements and fixes have been implemented.
