The new SeaMonkey version benefits from Mozilla Firefox improvements

SeaMonkey 2.17, a web browser, advanced e-mail, newsgroup client, IRC chat client, and HTML editing suite, has been released.

SeaMonkey 2.17 is a new major release in the series and comes with important new features, not to mention all the bugfixes made available.

Highlights of SeaMonkey 2.17:

• Performance improvements around common browser tasks have been implemented; • The implementation of the ECMAScript 6 draft has continued in this version; • <canvas> now supports blend modes; • Various <audio> and <video> improvements have been added; • The Details button on the Crash Reporter is now working correctly; • Several stability issues have been fixed; • The experimental support for HTML5 'dir' value 'auto' has been removed; • Sending emails with IDN-based email addresses is now possible.
