Ruby, an object-oriented language for quick and easy programming, has just reached version 2.1.1.

Ruby 2.1.1 is a stable release in this branch, and it comes with new features and improvements. It's now the latest stable version and, even if the official announcement hasn't been published, we have some details about this release. Highlights of Ruby 2.1.1:

• type_map has been kept in order to get rid of a memory leak; • Use :blockptr instead of :block as hash key when loading serialized instruction sequences from arrays; • A warning in copyright has been fixed; • syslog/lib has been added to documentable items; • The Integer acceptable now allows binary and hexadecimal numbers per the documentation; • Inadvertent symbol creation is now averted successfully.
