This is the development branch of the torrent client

Vuze, a BitTorrent client previously known as Azureus, which is built on Java, has been upgraded to version 5.3.0.1 Beta 22 and is now available for testing.

Vuze is a relatively lightweight BitTorrent client that can be used to download torrents and even acts as a search engine. This is not the only client available on the Linux platform, and the competition is fierce.

Vuze is not exactly in a good position because it's based on Java, and a number of other applications feel lighter, although they feature less options.

According to the developers, seeds can now be stopped to make way for higher priority ones, the speed scheduler has been extended in order to allow the starting and stopping of a tag’s downloads (only works when the rule is active), HTTPS support has been implemented for get-right webseeds, and a seeding option has been added to prevent more seeds from being started once the upload limit has been met.

Check out the announcement for a complete list of updates and new features. You can also check out our Vuze review, although it's for a slightly older version.
