OpenBSD, a free, multi-platform BSD-based UNIX-like operating system, which emphasizes portability, standardization, correctness, proactive security and integrated cryptograph, is now at version 5.4.

OpenBSD 5.4 has arrived six months after the previous and the developers haven't disappointed. The release is chock-full with new features and changes.

Highlights of OpenBSD 5.4:

• A new platform for systems based on the Cavium Octeon MIPS-compatible processors has been implemented; • A new platform for OMAP3/4 and AM335x systems using an ARM Cortex-A8 or Cortex-A9 CPU has been added; • The distribution is now mostly in sync with Linux 3.8.13; • Sandy Bridge and newer parts which previously had only ShadowFB acceleration now have full hardware acceleration.
