Valve has launched a new stable version for its Steam for Linux client, fixing a few problems and various issues.

After a development version garners sufficient changes, Valve promotes it to stable. The work for the next beta starts almost immediately.

Highlights of the latest Steam for Linux stable update:

• A possible UI hang that occurred at startup has been fixed; • Half-Life mods are no longer running the incorrect binary on Linux; • The shift and control key state is no longer sticking; • A fix has been implemented for the re-sizing of the Big Picture mode, after a game changes the screen resolution; • The reliability for Steamworks P2P networking has been improved.
