Netrunner 13.12 RC2, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Kubuntu 13.10, featuring KDE as the default desktop environment and integrating many GNOME/GTK+ programs to make it Ubuntu-compatible, has been released.

The Netrunner 13.12 RC2 distribution is based on Kubuntu, Ubuntu, and Debian core. The end result is a distribution that's very similar to a Windows environment and that differs entirely from its inspiration.

Highlights of Netrunner 13.12 RC2:

• The new Kicker Menu has been added (Super-/Window-Key to invoke); • The new Expanding Taskmanager has been added; • A flexible Sidebar panel (show and hide with F11 or mouse swipe) has been added; • Mouse Swipes have been pre-enabled.

A complete list of changes and improvements can be found in the official announcement. The final version of Netrunner is expected to arrive very soon.
