Canonical has a very dedicated team building the Mir display server, and they are updating it on a constant basis. Version 0.1.1 has just been released.

The Mir displayer server has missed the Ubuntu 13.10 development cycle, but Canonical is pushing for an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS release. This has yet to be officially confirmed, but the work on Mir continues uninterrupted.

Highlights of Mir Display Server 0.1.1:

• Unit tests for V/H scroll events have been added; • unity-system-compositor FTBFS has been fixed on trusty against new Mir; • The timeout for detecting server crashes has been removed; • Docs and scripting for trusty have been updated; • The armhf chroot setup script is now pointing to the right library.

A complete list of improvements can be found in the official changelog. Download Mir Display Server 0.1.1 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
