The latest version of the stable Linux kernel, 3.12.25, has been announced by Jiri Slaby and comes with just a few changes and improvements.

The development for this branch of the kernel has simmered down and this latest update only integrates a few changes and improvements.

“I'm announcing the release of the 3.12.21 kernel. All users of the 3.12 kernel series must upgrade.”

“The updated 3.12.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.12.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary,” Jiri Slaby said in the email announcement.

According to changelog, the check for critical temperatures is now consistent, the lane/clock setup for dp 1.2 capable devices has been fixed, SS has been reenabled on Cayman, support has been implemented for the Corsair USB dongle, an ID for Telewell TW-LTE 4G v2 has been added, and a new ID for Intel GPU “spurious interrupt” quirk has been added.

If you are using any of the versions released until now in the Linux kernel 3.12.x branch, you should consider an update to this current build, although there are a couple of newer kernel versions available for download.

A complete list of commits in this branch of the kernel can be found in the official announcement. You can download Linux kernel 3.12.25 LTS right now from Softpedia.
