LinHES (Linux Home Entertainment System), a distribution loosely based on ArchLinux that centers around MythTV and designed for Home Theater PCs (HTPC), is now at version 8.1.

LinHES 8.1 has been released only for the 64-bit platform, but it does feature a lot of changes and improvements. Most importantly, it includes MythTV 0.27.

According to the developer, because MythTV is not compatible with older versions, all installs should be updated at the same time.

Highlights of LinHES 8.1:

• MythTV has been updated to version 0.27 and a number of fixes have been implemented; • The classic local website has been released; • Xymon alerts will appear on the console, as well via OSD; • A new default LinHES theme has been added.
