Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr) users can now enjoy the latest version of LibreOffice, 4.2 RC2, by downloading it from the official PPA.

The final version of LibreOffice 4.2 is not all that far away and Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr) users can now install the latest version released by adding the official PPA from The Document Foundation.

If you want to get a glimpse of what LibreOffice 4.2 has in mind for its users, you just need to open a terminal and enter the following commands (keep in mind that you will have to remove libreoffice-core and you will need root access):

sudo apt-get purge libreoffice-core sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-prereleases sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install libreoffice

After the installation is complete, just start LibreOffice from the Dash menu. Very few modifications will be made from RC2 to the final version and it’s very likely that two versions will be almost identical.
