The Document Foundation has announced that the third Release Candidate version for LibreOffice 4.1.2 is now available for the Linux platform, which is actually a surprise because it hasn't been previously announced.

According to The Document Foundation, starting with version 4.0.0, the LibreOffice installer files have a new naming scheme.

The Document Foundation has decided to release a third Release Candidate, even if there were only two announced so far. A crash that occurred when opening a .DOC file has been fixed, the Function Wizard no longer crashes LibreOffice, and the format painter no longer deletes the cell content.

More details about this surprise release can be found in the official announcement.
