Sanctum 2, a first-person tower defense game developed and published by Coffee Stain Studios on Steam, is now available on Steam for Linux with a ridiculous 80% price cut.

Sanctum 2 is one of the best-looking games on the Linux platform and it all has to do with the fact that is using the Unreal 3 engine. It was the first game with this type of engine released for Linux users and it showed that it's possible. It opened up the way for more games powered by this technology.

"Pick from four unique character classes and embark on a mission to protect the oxygen-producing Cores from hordes of deadly aliens who are threatened by their existence. Outfit your character exactly the way you want through the new and extensive customization system," reads the Steam entry.

The system requirements are surprisingly low, even if the game features very nice graphics. Users will need at least Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, a 2.0 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, an SM 3.0-compatible video card with 256 MB VRAM, and 4 GB of free space.

The promotion on Steam for Linux will last for less than 24 hours, so you'll need to decide fast.
